🚀 Jan Keck is a passionate trainer, facilitator, and experience designer who has made it his mission to transform how we connect with one another. Driven by the belief that deep, meaningful connections beat small talk every time, Jan has dedicated his career to creating spaces where real human connection can flourish.

During the pandemic, Jan leveraged his skills to teach thousands of trainers, facilitators, and educators how to recreate the “magic” of in-person gatherings in an online environment. His approach goes beyond the basic functionality of virtual tools; it’s about capturing the essence of what makes group interactions truly memorable and impactful.

Jan’s journey was shaped by a frustration many of us can relate to: the ineffective and often cringeworthy icebreakers that leave participants feeling even more isolated despite being in a group. Witnessing this disconnect inspired Jan to develop a new approach to group facilitation that emphasises genuine engagement and trust building.

Currently, Jan is pouring his energy into writing his first book, “Ice Melters.” In it, he advocates for abandoning outdated icebreaker techniques and introduces his framework designed to increase engagement, build trust, and foster deep connections—without making anyone feel uncomfortable. Jan’s Ice Melters are not just about warming up a group; they’re about transforming how people interact, helping them feel seen, heard, and valued.

🧩Through his work, Jan aims to fuel a movement that encourages deeper human connection. He is not just teaching techniques; he is building a community of like-minded individuals who are committed to making every interaction count. Whether you’re running a workshop, leading a team meeting, or hosting a virtual event, Jan’s methods provide the tools to turn any group session into an opportunity for authentic connection.

OPTIMISING YOUR REMOTE WORKSPACE 🌍

A well-designed workspace is crucial for productivity, especially when you’re constantly on the move, like me, as a digital nomad. Whether you’re in a cosy café in Lisbon or a remote cabin in the Alps, setting up an optimal remote workspace can make all the difference.

🦹‍♂️ Ready to explore my remote cave ?

🔥 THE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF A REMOTE WORKSPACE

Technic & ergonomic set up is a key success factor in your daily remote.

Because most of my time is behind a computer, setting my Bat cave up have been critical to buy me remote quality time and experiences on my daily. And because Batman cannot just spend his life in his cave, being mobile and flexible as also frame my set-up !

Here my insight creating a space that fuels productivity starts with a few key components :

👉 Ergonomics first : Invest in portable ergonomic solutions like a foldable laptop stand or a travel-sized keyboard and mouse. Your back and wrists will thank you.

👉 Reliable tech : Ensure your devices are up-to-date and equipped with essential tools. A lightweight laptop with strong battery life ( 💛 my 15 hrs Macbook Air M2 autonomy ), omnidirectional mic and a mobile hotspot can keep you connected and efficient, no matter where you are.

👉 Ambience matters : Lighting and background noise can influence your focus. Natural light is ideal, but if not available, use mobile LED lights as Elgato key light mini.

🛠️ TOOLS TO ENHANCE YOUR WORKSPACE

On remote, the toolchain is your first digital workplace !

Soft skills and technics have always been a strong part of my full remote transformation and yes, maturity and experience is key in a digital nomad relationship with organisations and partners. BUT, tools make a lot ! In my previous gratitude post to you for the tools of our success, I outline how choosing them carefully can change your world !

Maximise productivity with the right tools:

👉 Miro for collaboration : it keeps my collaboration accurate, organised and accessible.

👉 Monday.com for organisation : my second brain to manage tasks, opportunities and ideas in one place.

👉 Butter for engagement : to bring my remote interactive, fun and engaging.

💡 MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR ENVIRONMENT

Tech, books, swag & goodies… All you need to inspire your daily is in the cave !

No matter where you are, your environment should inspire creativity and focus. Don’t hesitate to personalise your workspace with items that boost your mood—like a favourite mug or a small plant.

Remember, your workspace is your sanctuary for productivity, even on the go 💛
