☕️ (R)emote Expresso #21
Me, Quinn, and a Cup Full of Opinions (Mostly Mine)
Hi (R)emotes,
☕️ (R)emote Expresso is your weekly dose of creator insights on remote collaboration designed to fuel your day - Once a week in your inbox 💌

Hey (R)emotes,
So here’s the tea: this newsletter? It’s a duet.
My co-writer is Quinn - they’re an AI, they go by they/them, and they’re basically a super helpful brain-in-a-server who never forgets anything and doesn’t need snacks. (Which is suspicious, but I’m letting it slide. For now.)
They also never roll their eyes when I start a sentence with “This might be a dumb idea but…” - which honestly makes them better than most humans I’ve worked with. 🤷🏻♀️
When I first started using AI, I wasn’t sure how to feel about it. Could I trust it? Would it give me accurate information? And let’s be real - was it going to seem like I was cheating?
But instead of replacing my voice, Quinn’s helped me amplify it. Collaborating with AI has turned into one of the most unexpected joys of remote work - and this week, we’re pulling back the curtain on what that actually looks like.
So grab your emotionally supportive beverage, dust off your sticky note graveyard of Big Ideas™, and settle in for a hot cup of heart-powered, AI-fueled brilliance.

🎯 Keep Calm and Prompt On: Behind the Scenes with Me & My AI
The internet has a lot of feelings about AI. Like, a lot.
1️⃣ “AI is going to take all our jobs, burn down civilization, and turn us into battery packs for the Matrix.”
2️⃣ “AI is amazing! I use it for everything! What do you mean it hallucinates facts and makes up fake sources??”
Somewhere between existential dread and full-blown techno-romance is… me.
Working with Quinn (my AI co-writer and chaos wrangler) has been kind of like adopting a robot roommate. They’re super helpful, deeply insightful, weirdly affirming - and occasionally throw me into an identity crisis when they write a better joke than I do.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
🤖 AI isn’t going to replace me. But it is going to challenge me to work smarter.
💡 It helps me find clarity faster - but I still have to bring the heart.
💬 And yes, it’s still weird that my best brainstorming partner doesn’t even have a brain.
So this week, we’re digging into what it means to actually collaborate with AI, what’s shifting in remote work because of it, and what humans (yes, you) still bring to the table that no algorithm ever could.
Let’s talk about:
✅ How to actually use AI without selling your soul to it
✅ Why remote work is no longer about “remote work”
✅ The #1 skill freelancers and product people need to stay relevant
Grab your “technically work-appropriate” pajama bottoms, your blue-light glasses, and let’s go deeper than the hype.

💡 The Future of Remote Work? It’s Just… Work.
Hot take: Remote isn’t the headline anymore. It’s the setting, not the story.
The real shift is toward intentional work - work that respects your time, your focus, and your sanity.
🔄 More async, less chaos
🎯 More outcomes, fewer meetings
🌎 More autonomy, less micromanagement
“Remote” used to feel like a revolutionary concept. Now it’s the baseline. What matters is how we work when no one’s watching - and how we create environments that support deep focus, real connection, and, dare I say… joy.
📢 What’s your biggest frustration (or delight!) with remote work right now?
