How do I feed my remote with ?

Hi (R) emotes,

☕️ (R) emote Expresso is a short creator insights over the remote collaboration to start your day with - Once a week in your inbox 💌

This week, let’s explore the tools to experience your remote 🕹️

After carefully choosing your hardware setup for a remote life it’s time to feed the beast :

Let explore the remote tools options together !

FROM SOFTWARE TO ECOSYSTEM

My daily toolchain to make the magic happen !

I avoid software specialisation (except Miro 💛). Burst with AI, new tools are coming up every day. But remind that usage beat features (thanks Giulio Bonanome) and what make a good solution is usually its capabilities to integrate a bigger environment :

  • As says Elena Avramenko, it’s urgent to choose solutions that can aggregate your content in a smart and centralised environment,

  • Work OS has become more and more the new black. Are you still managing your tasks with Excel ?

FROM TASK TO FLOW MANAGEMENT

Years of IT collaborations teach me that Jira war is pure vanity : jobs to be done philosophy generally beat task system discussions

Designing recently a toolchain solution flow chart with my fella Mattia Raffaelli , I figured out that keeping the focus on information flow matter the most.

Using the recent Miro planner to concentrate tasks and tickets in a shareable and visual roadmap seems to me a perfect environment to combine product management on Atlassian Jira / Notion and production on Microsoft Azure DevOps for example.

WAYS OF WORKING

Many years from now, my 0 inbox philosophy makes me love task management but soon, Trello looks like a toy to me 🧸

Integrating synch & asynchronous ways of working in teams brought me to the next level : accessible documentation for anyone, anytime on any device.

  • Work OS is king at that and monday.com makes a lot to share content, milestones, workload and tasks making the magic happen with automation,

  • Modern product deserves template system : with R SPRINT for Miro, we've chosen Figma to build a collaborative factory on a light weight design system,

  • AI assistant is the next big thing ! Integrating OpenAI GPTs in a more sophisticated RAG application will open new way to enhance remote human teams!

Butter to engage virtual collaboration with fun

REMOTE EXPERIENCE

Previous point fall to 0 is something is missing : experience & fun.

Zoom fatigue is not a joke (ask Said Saddouk) and here are some great learning :

  • Remote meetings don’t have to be boring : as Butter early adopters, workshops and communication are never a pain,

  • Streamers as inspiration, I use Elgato Stream Deck platform to virtualise voices, music and effect to make remote vibrant,

  • Using Luma since January change my way to aggregate people & community.
