๐Ÿ‘ท BUILDING WITH PURPOSE, NOT PROCESS

What does it take to build something meaningful in the remote space? Not just another online group or networking hub, but a genuine community that shapes how people work and connect across borders? Our recent quarterly review offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at how R Generation has evolved from a handful of passionate individuals to a thriving ecosystem that's redefining remote collaboration.

An hybrid quarter team review to evaluate progress and adjust the trajectory!

The numbers tell one story โ€” 35 events, hundreds of engaged members, multiple revenue streams. But the real story lies in the intentional choices we've made along the way: how we've structured for sustainability over speed, prioritized authentic connections over vanity metrics, and built systems that scale without losing our human touch.

๐ŸŒฑ THE ART OF INTENTIONAL GROWTH

Building a global remote community isn't just about gathering people online โ€” it's about creating something that matters. Our recent Q2 review revealed a fascinating truth: when you combine clear vision with genuine human connection, remarkable things happen at scale.

The difference lies in how we approach growth itself. While most communities chase virality and optimize for vanity metrics, we've chosen what we call "intentional growth" โ€” every new member, every event, every partnership is evaluated not just for its immediate impact, but for how it strengthens the fabric of what we're building together.

โ

It's not a test anymore

Rodrigo Passarelli, 101 team member

This means sometimes saying no to opportunities that would boost our numbers but dilute our mission. It means investing time in onboarding experiences that help people find their place rather than just adding them to a database. Most importantly, it means recognizing that sustainable communities are built on relationships, not algorithms.

๐Ÿš€ SMALL TEAMS, BIG IMPACT

Looking at our quarter achievements, the stats tell one story: 35 events delivered, 700+ tickets sold, community growth of 166% in just three weeks. But the real story lies in how we've structured for sustainable growth. Unlike traditional organizations that optimize for efficiency, we've designed around three core principles: seasonal rhythm (work sprints from February-July and September-December with strategic breaks), program diversification (creator programs, memberships, community services), and what we call "people as process" โ€” where team members drive initiatives rather than following rigid frameworks.

Programs to explore monetization & models

Our monetization strategy reflects this intentional approach. We've moved beyond hoping for viral growth to building multiple revenue streams: membership programs that genuinely add value, creator partnerships that elevate talent, community services for organizations, and strategic partnerships that align with our mission.

โ

Weโ€™re building a legacy : one where collaboration isnโ€™t performative, and people donโ€™t burn out trying to prove their worth.

Deb Haas, 101 Team member

The result ? A sustainable model that serves both our community and our mission.

๐Ÿค COLLABORATIVE, NOT COMPETITIVE

What excites us most isn't the growth metrics โ€” it's the evolution of how we work. Remote collaboration isn't just about tools and processes; it's about reimagining how humans create together.

What drives our community challenge!

Our upcoming Q3 priorities focus on consolidation rather than expansion: improving member journey clarity, strengthening our content strategy, and ensuring every touchpoint reflects our values.

โ

We don't just have a community, we have a movement. And movements require both heart and strategy

Boris Petrovitch Njegosh, 101 Team member & community lead, educator & facilitator

The lesson we're learning? Sustainable growth happens when you balance ambition with authenticity, strategy with spontaneity, and individual excellence with collective success. We're not just building a community โ€” we're prototyping the future of work.

๐ŸŒธ Meet the creative strategist who believes that structure fuels imagination, not the other way around. Silvia Coco brings a rare combination : the artistic vision of someone whose work graced the Musรฉe du Louvre and the strategic mind of a consultant who's guided hundreds of projects across industries.

As founder of La Creativa and co-founder of Explosive Brains, Silvia has mastered what many struggle with: turning creative chaos into purposeful action. Her journey spans illustration, marketing, branding, and strategic consulting, but her superpower lies in helping entrepreneurs and their teams navigate the space between having ideas and making them real.

The โ€œin progressโ€ strategic template the R Generation works on with Silvia ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Her template introduces a visual brainstorming method that maps challenges, reframes them as opportunities, and uses "cross-pollination" to generate unexpected connections. It's strategy and creativity working in perfect harmony.

โ

I'm not just a consultant, I'm a co-pilot.
I work side-by-side with my clients because the best strategies emerge from collaboration and understanding their reality.

In our latest session, Fabrice des Mazery brought his signature blend of product expertise and organizational wisdom to our latest session, and the insights were game-changing. As a former CPO at IBM, TripAdvisor, and Deezer, Fabrice has seen firsthand how even brilliant teams can get trapped by poorly designed OKRs and misaligned incentives.

โ

The problem isn't OKRs themselves โ€” it's that we've turned them into theater. People create objectives to feel important rather than to drive real strategy

Fabrice des Mazery

His core message resonated throughout our community : most organizations treat strategy and structure as separate problems, when they're actually two sides of the same coin. The breakthrough moment came when he shared his "Lord of the Rings" analogy โ€” building strategy is like crafting a story where every character (team member) understands their role in reaching the mountain (vision), not just their individual quest.

Key highlights included

  1. The 80% Problem
Why most company resources remain disconnected from stated strategy

  2. Incentive Alignment
How to link rewards to actual goals rather than job descriptions

  3. True Focus
Understanding the critical difference between focus and simply having fewer objectives

  4. Story-First Strategy
Start with the narrative you want to tell, then build the characters and chapters that will bring it to life

The workshop's interactive elements revealed fascinating patterns in our community's experience with organizational design, from OKR graveyards to measurement theater. Fabrice's practical advice: think confidence levels, not completion percentages, and remember that not everything strategic needs to be an OKR.

Whether you're leading a team of five or fifty, these insights will transform how you think about alignment and execution.
